The "Patriot" saga continues, and let’s just say our binocular-wielding friend has overlooked a very fundamental detail. It’s one thing to be "on guard," but it helps if you actually know where you’re standing. The gap between the rhetoric and the reality in this one is wider than the River Don.
It’s easy to get angry at a face you don’t know, especially when you’re told they’re the reason things are tough. But while the "Patriot" scans the horizon for an imaginary invasion, the real issues—stagnant wages, failing services, and the erosion of local industry—continue unchallenged.
Anger against migrants is often manufactured as a loud, emotional distraction. It keeps people looking at the water instead of asking why the town centre is empty or why the local hospital is struggling.
